Building good looking scores requires two passes.

To make an A4 PDF score:
$ lilypond -b null -d write-tweaks lwv05.ly
$ lilypond lwv05.ly

To make a letter PDF score:
$ lilypond -b null -d write-tweaks -d letter -o lwv05letter lwv05.ly
$ lilypond -d letter -o lwv05letter lwv05.ly

To use "modern" clefs (ie only G and F clefs), add the "-d modern-clefs"
option to both invocations.
